THE VILLAGE

The Organisation of the Quilla Pacari Women welcomes you in its House of tourism, located in San Francisco de Cunuguachay, at the bottom of the Chimborazo, at a height of 3200 metres.

It's in this community, next to Riobamba, nestled in the heart of a valley circled by the Chimbarozo, Tungurahua and Altar volcanoes, that you will be able to go to meet the culture of the natives, in a convivial, spontaneous and simple atmospher

THE WOMEN'S ORGANISATION

The Organisation of the "Quilla Pacari" women ("rising moon" in Quichua), for 6 years, has gathered more than 80 women of the community of San Francisco de Cunuguachay. Its aim is to create other sources of income to those already existing but insufficient, and thus to improve the quality of life of the community.

Several projects were elaborated for those reasons, some of them already work, like the House of tourism (which includes a intercultural exchange side to in) and the jam factory. Other projects are under way : shampoo manufacturing, traditional hats and bakery.

The organisation of the women belongs to the Ahuana network (help to the financing, professional training, etc.)
