MAP
San Francisco de Cunuguachay is 15 km northwest from Riobamba,
that is 25 minutes by cab.

Once in the bus terminal in Riobamba, you have two solutions:

URBANS
TAXIS
The first consists in taking a cab directly to San Francisco de Cunuguachay.
Fare: from 5 to 8 $. Warning: tourists are often taken as target of swindling;
they are asked up to 20 $! Even if you don't speak fluent Spanish, insist,
negotiate, and give up if the driver is not ready to drop his prices.
It's often at that moment that he lets go! If not, don't worry there are
loads of cabs, you won't have trouble to find another one!
Quite often the drivers don't know the way to get to that community.
Indications to give from Riobamba: direction Cuenca, on the Panamerican
road. Take on the right just before the bridge of Lican. Follow this tarred
road on 8 km (Chimborazo right in front of you). After a former train
station, turn on the left and take the dirt track where it is indicated
"Ahuana". After a few minutes, you will enter in the village
by the main square. The House of tourism is 100 metres on the path which
goes on the left..
COMMUNAUTAIRIAN
TAXIS
You can also use the communitarian cabs of San Francisco, which are on
the corner of the streets "Juan La Valle" and "Columbia". It will only costs
you 0.30 $.
Be careful! The links are scarce between Riobamba and San Francisco de
Cunuguachay: you will be luckier between 12pm and 5pm.
On Mondays to Saturdays links are assured between 4pm and 5pm.
